Massachusetts rapper, P-Rice, collaborates with Seattle Washington’s own Lil’ Kriz on his latest G-Funk joint “Shootin’ Da Breeze” off of Breather II (available for Free Download on Soundcloud.com).
The two rappers tell the stories about their hustle and struggle to reign successful independence within the game. Lil’ Kriz introduces the first verse explaining his daily grind on the streets to the beats; “I’m out here in the streets getting cream like I’m Wu-Tang and try to keep it 100 like I’m Freeway Rick..that’s the way the game goes, trying to make money escaping the plain clothes” .
508’s P-Rice then welcomes the chorus expressing the ways of life, how people come and go and that the hustle must go on; as long as everyone is in peace everything is alright at the end of the day if your eating and paid; “Thinkin of old times, ya know memories, some still livin’ trippin’ some decease, all that matters is we living in peace- world be acting shady, peeps be packing daily”. Throughout P-Rice’s verse he stresses the complications of trying to earn a salary job even after earning a college degree, how the rap game has changed for the love to for the money and how the small town he grew up in “sure ain’t what it use to be”.
