Lately, P-Rice has been keeping himself busy with having several guest on his show- The P-Rice Show over at 89.5fm WSKB. The rising radio personality has had interviewed some big names in the past months, starting from Super French producer Cartelsons in December 2013 to Aceoutrageous in February. Even with a scheduled interview to have up & coming artists Taylor J (4/30/14) on air to promote his mixtape “Morning High” on datpiff.com the P-Rice Show has been at its first ever prime lately.
P-Rice was finally able to catch up with the co-founder of “Bright Boys Entertainment” and long time affiliate of Aceoutrageous; the South Jersey King of Punk Rap Ricky Rude. The two chop it up about Rude’s latest mixtape release “Ready to Live” which features the original king of the south & Geto Boy Scarface, Trina of Coke Boyz and Aceoutrageous. Along with talk about Rude’s debut “No Guts, No Glory”, future projects, the music industry and much more. All three parts of the interview are on P-Rice’s: http://www.youtube.com/user/PriceUS4life/videos
P-Rice gives you a quick and simple introduction hands-on with how to operate the radio station equipment at 89.5fm WSKB. Along with dishing out a few details about P-Rice’s background and seriousness in the field of Entertainment & Media. Enjoy, We hope to inspire!
Every year Westfield State University radio station 89.5fm WSKB put on an all-day concert from 12pm to 7pm. Many talented acts and bands come through to perform, sell merchandise and many do it for the love and fun of it. Majority of the bands lead from punk rock acts to experimental- with a lack of hip-hop. BUT! This year on APRIL 12TH the board of hip-hop director, myself, P-Rice will be hosting one of the biggest underground hip-hop shows Westfield State University has ever put on. Originally planning to have artists from New Jersey all the way to the Southern Cali- the hip-hop show caused much controversy and excitement. Many artists wanted to come out from Mo the General to Johnny Collarossi; but many of the acts that are going to be performing are straight from the underground music scenes of Massachusetts. Such acts consist of up and coming emcee: E.S.P. (who plans releasing his debut Weapon of Mass Production this Spring- it’ll be available for sale at the show), MassILLusions, Sean Byrne (who has opened up for acts like 3 6 Mafia), Koffidential, KR the MC,and Westfield State’s own crew ATI- along with myself P-Rice.
We’ve been gone for awhile but to sum up what has been going on in the world of P-Rice, a few weeks ago on February 19th- I had the chance to chop it up with up and coming artist Aceoutrageous. For those that don’t know who Aceoutrageous is, he is an up and coming artist out of New Jersey but is now over in Colorado and California. Ace called into the P-Rice Show for an interview that went close to if not over 45 minutes well he was on his way to a show in Salt Lake City, Utah for the following night. We were able to discuss Ace’s last project “The Outrageous Life Vol. 1” (download it here on iTunes), his work with President Obama and the HUD organization, Ace’s future project “The Green Tape” (which will be for free download on major hip-hop mixtape sites) and his experiences touring.
Aceoutrageous has opened up for such acts like Mac Miller, Machine Gun Kelly and many more; he has even toured with Big Boi from Outkast. A live and high-energetic performer Ace knows how to rock his crowds and makes sure everyone has had a good time “turn’t up!” Our favorites from Ace has to be his catchy yet soothing track “Company” to his erratic intense energy up-in-your-face track “Frequency” to comical yet melodic club banger “Finger Lickin’ Good”. We would love to have Ace come out and perform for our radio stations concert in the spring but final decisions haven’t been confirmed yet. If not- maybe in the future Ace can call into the show again to chop it up with us and kick some game about any new projects- you guys are more than welcome to!
Much Props & 1love- P-Rice

What’s good y’all? We apologize for our inconsistence with updating our blog- but let all lost hope and sorrows go away because now the P-Rice Show is back with a vengeance and harder than ever. If you missed it this week, on 89.5fm WSKB Wednesday Nights 6-8pm (eastern), P-Rice had upcoming artist E.S.P. and his posse come through to show and prove some of their finest skills…spitting fire into the mic! With his peeps Sean Byrne, MassILLusions, and M-A-L the posse puts it down live and on the spot for this freestyle cypher. This was recorded and shot in the station so you’ll only be able to hear the acapellas of the artist (but on radio) you could hear the instrumentals that were being played..such instrumentals spun were by Pete Rock to Miilkbone. Enjoy!
“Hip-Hop is Dead’ is the thought of many veteran and even young hip-hop listeners. The club and poppy dance beats have taking over the hot rap/hip-hop charts, aimlessly repetitive hustling anthems replayed on your local major hip-hop station. It seems like the odds could be true that one of the most unique, expressive yet controversial genres of music is pronounced dead from what the eye can see; but take your ear down to the underground and you will experience for yourself the real sound of hip-hop is well alive..and actively doing well.
Up and coming inspiring emcee, Shane Presutti AKA E.S.P, has networked his way to some of the dopest upcoming names in the underground for hip-hop such as Kev Soul (producer), Fresh Kilz (Canadian producer) and Sleepqyuil (Producer/Emcee) in anticipation for his debut release “Weapon of Mass Production”. P-Rice was able to have E.S.P on his show to discuss about his upcoming debut, his come up in the music, thoughts on the industry & the come back of real hip-hop, future plans and much more ! Tune into the video, Part II can be found under our videos on YouTube as well.
The P-Rice Show can be heard on Wednesday Nights 6-8pm on 89.5fm WSKB (eastern)
Up and coming underground Emcee straight out of Southbridge, MA, Shane Presutti AKA E.S.P, will be making an appearance on the P-Rice show on Wednesday night December 4th. E.S.P has collaborated with P-Rice on his latest release Million Dollar Dreams on the track “Applaud”…P-Rice has future plans to release a project with long time childhood friend, the two are producing together along with doing the vocals as well, the project is due sometime next year in 2014. Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving..and we out!
If you are an artist, entertainer, public personality, radio DJ and or writer; you probably all can relate to the striving pain of building more of an audience. As a radio DJ and you could say artist and public personality- we have had our up’s and down’s with publicity for our show. I guess it is true when they say, “Here for one moment and gone the next”, in show business, because it seems you can have a great show one night and be on top of the world but by next week it is like all your hard work has been erased. The thoughts of dead air and deaf ears circulate your mind and you begin to think; is this another dream turned into a part-time hobby again or will maybe one day we will see a rainbow through the stormy clearings that welcome us our reward for paying dues.
I don’t know if the celebration last night was for tonight or if we should have another celebration after tonight because The P-Rice Show is back on air tonight! For the first time after 3 and a half months- the 5th season begins at 6pm Eastern and goes until 8pm. 3-6pm Pacific and for all the other time zones I guess it’s do for self- haha- but for those who are not familiar with The P-Rice Show it is a radio show in the Western Masses hosted by myself P-Rice with a hip-hop theme but we play a majority kind of music just usually rap/hip-hop. The P-Rice Show has been quite successful in the sense that many enjoy the show and back when I had an over-seas interview with UK legend Redd Emcee- we even had King Echo and TJ Chill of the Zulu Nation tune in for the show. Much thanks and love goes out to my hip-hop fam. worldwide! So if you love Golden Era, rare/underground rap/hip-hop along with other classic funky tunes and random talk and news then you would love The P-Rice Show.
Tune in every Wednesday Night..More the merrier, we enjoy the company of listening ears..Peace out- Brotha P-Rice
